She was born in Camagüey, in November 8th, 1949. She finished her high school studies in the Provincial School of Plastic Arts of Camagüey, on Painting. From 1966 she kept on studying in the National School of Arts of Cubanacán, Havana City and graduated in1970. From that year on she imparted classes in the Academy of Plastic Arts of San Alejandro until 1989.
She is member of the National Association of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC) and of the International Association of Plastic Artists (IAPA).
The Council of State of the Republic of Cuba conferred her the Awards “For the National Culture”in 1988 and the “23 de Agosto”, from the Federation of Cuban Women, in 1989. In 1999 Government of Camagüey conferred her the award of ¨Ilustrious Son” of the City of Camagüey and months later she received the “Espejo de Paciencia” Award conferred by the Provincial Sector of Culture . In 2002 she received the Diploma to “Artistic Merit” from the Higher Studies Arts Institute (ISA).

Trinidad-Tobago, Japan among other countries.
Besides painting and drawing, Flora Fong has made some works in ceramics, stained glass, textile designs in TELARTE Project and making kites according to Eastern technique in the Fifth Biennial of Havana in 1994, she directed a kite workshop with the collaboration of Chinese specialists.
In 1978, she represented Cuba in the International Meeting of Painters, in Latvia.
She travelled to the People´s Republic of China in mission of cultural interchange, in 1989. Besides, she has visited numerous countries such as United States of America, Germany, Russia, Spain, Mexico, Portugal, Italy, France and Japan among others.
She delivered a series of lectures and speeches on Cuban Plastic Arts during the III Panama-Cuba Cultural Meeting held in Panama in 1984.
She has made illustrations for different Cuban and foreign publishings ; she designed the cover of the novel « El columpio del Rey Spencer » by the Cuban writer Marta Rojas, published in Chile in 1993. She also illustrated the book « Junto al álamo de los sinsontes », by the Cuban writer Emilio de Armas. Casa de las Américas Award
The Nube de Otoño art video (Autumn Cloud), on life and work of Flora Fong was directed by Alejandro Gil in 1993.
In 1995, she participated in an international project for a collective mural painting together with six Spaniard painters at the Hotel Nacional de Cuba, in Havana.
In 1997 Flora Fong designed a 150 x 600 cm stained glass for the Piano-Bar of « El Pedregal » Restaurant at the Cuban capital.
In 1999, she made an sculpture at Varadero beach, in front of the“Taíno 5” Hotel.
In 2002 she made a ceramic mural for the “Cesáreo Fernández” elementary school at the Playa Municipality.
In 2004 she made an sculpture at the University of Informatic Sciences. Havana, Cuba.
